国际舞评人，自1988年首次赴美深造以来，每年于海内外观舞80-120余场，用中英文发表大量舞评；中国艺术研究院舞蹈研究所所长、研究员，硕士及博士研究生导师，屡获中外政府及文化机构的“研究员奖金”，频繁游学欧、美、亚、澳20国，及港、澳、台地区，主要研究方向为中外舞蹈历史与美学的比较研究；已用中英文在海内外出版专著译著28部，其中有6部在台湾再版繁体字，于大中华地区广为流传；1998和2009年先后获文化部和中国舞蹈家协会颁发的“优秀专家”和“突出贡献舞蹈家”称号。
 

As an international dance critic, Ou has been viewing 80 – 120 dance performances every year and reviewing many of them in Chinese and English nationally and internationally since 1988 when he came back from his first U.S. study tour. And as Director and Research Fellow of Dance Research Institute under Chinese National Academy of Arts, he has been a supervising professor for MA and Ph.D candidates while traveling extensively in Asia, Oceania, Europe and America, as well as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. He is a recipient of different fellowships from various governmental and cultural organizations around the world. His research subjects include comparative studies of Chinese and Foreign dance history and aesthetics. He is an author of 28 books published in Chinese and English at home and abroad, among which six were reprinted in traditional Chinese characters in Taiwan and have been widely read among Chinese readers all over the world. He was named “Outstanding Expert” and “Extraordinary Dance Artist” respectively from the Chinese Ministry of Culture in 1998 and the Chinese National Dance Artists Association in 2009.
